What is the 19+Learner Support Fund or Advanced Learner Loan Bursary?
The Learner Support Fund/Advanced Learner Loan Bursary supports eligible students who require financial assistance to complete their college courses. The funds can cover travel and childcare costs for 19+ learners.
Eligibility criteria for the 19+ Learner Support Fund:
To apply for general course costs, applicants must be 19 or older on September 1, 2023. For child care costs, applicants must be 20 or older at the start of the course.
Applicants must have been accepted for a ‘Learner Responsive’ course funded by the Skills or Education Funding Agency.
Certain college courses and student groups are not eligible for Learner Support Funds, as listed below.

The Advanced Learner Loan
An Advanced Learner Loan helps to cover the costs of additional education courses.
Learners aged 19 and up who are pursuing an approved learning goal at Levels 3 or 4 at an approved provider in England can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
The loan’s eligibility is not determined by a learner’s income, and no credit checks are required. Interest is calculated from the date the first payment is made to the learning provider.
The Advanced Learner loan, plus any interest, must be paid back, but only after the learner has completed or left their course and their income exceeds the repayment threshold. Repaying Your Student Loan: How much you repay please check on following link- Advanced Learner Loan
The amount available depends on:
- the course
- the fees charged by the learning provider.
How do I apply for the Advanced Learner Loan?
Once you have decided on the courses you want to study.
Call us at 07967489516 or fill out the enquiry form. We will then contact you and send you additional course information and an application pack. Once you have completed and returned your Application Pack, we will email you a Learning and Funding Information Letter (LIFL).
You will then go online to Advanced Learner Loan
and fill out your loan application using the information provided in your LIFL letter. You must have your proof of identity (such as a passport or driver’s license) and National Insurance Number on hand. You must also download and sign a copy of the application form before returning it.
Student Finance England sends you a letter letting you know you’ve been approved and gives you a customer reference number (CRN).
Once Student Finance England has notified us that your loan has been approved, we will send you an email welcoming you to the course.
