Avalon Institute is located on Rochester High Street, which is easily accessible via Southern trains, buses, and roads. We are about a 5-minute walk from Rochester station, 15 minutes by walk or 5 minutes by taxi from Chatham station, and 10 minutes walk from Strood station. Other stations such as Rainham, Gillingham, Maidstone, Sittingbourne, and Gravesend have easy train access to Rochester.

By Road: We are 30 mins away from M25 leave junction 2 towards Canterbury and follow the sign to Strood/Rochester. 20 mins from M20 Junction 4 and 6.

Parking:
We have car short stay paid car parking opposite side of centre, plus other parking locations are nearby within few mins walking distance. If you are looking for free parking which is located near Delce area, location can be located via satnav.

How can I book and pay for my course?

For telephone and website bookings, payment can be made in full or part payment can be made as follows:-

Individual courses require 50% payment at the time of booking.

A 50% deposit is required when booking multiple courses.
The remaining balance must be paid seven days before the start date of the course.

To secure a place for Qualifi Level 2, 3, or above Full-Time routes, a 20% payment is required. A further 20% is required seven days before the start date. The remaining balance can be paid in instalments based on the course time frame. Full payment must be made by the halfway point of the course.

Can I get insurance for QUALIFI level 2 to 4 and short Beauty courses?

Yes, QUALIFI accredited Beauty and Aesthetic courses are Internationally recognised, and you can obtain insurance with level 2 and above courses.

CPD accredited courses: Yes, all CPD courses are insurable.

Avalon short Diploma courses: yes, our short courses are accredited by Professional Beauty Direct and they are insurable.

Why are the courses so much shorter than those at colleges of further education?

Avalon Institute offers short, intensive training in small groups (a maximum of 4-6 students at any given time). The first part of the course covers essential theory, but the majority of the training is hands on practical, with students performing treatments on models and each other.

What factors should I consider when choosing a training provider?

Ensure that all teachers have teaching qualifications, not just beauty qualifications.

Inquire whether the course will allow you to obtain membership and insurance through one of the beauty associations.

What kind of support does the school provide to students after they complete a short course?

What kind of support do you receive when joining for Level 2, 3, or further?

Are the course lecturers fully qualified and Experienced?

Yes, lecturers have years of experience in the industry have the recognized professional teaching qualification up to the level 5 and are registered assessors, Internal Verifier with the necessary qualifications in the subjects they teach.

What kind of support is provided after taking a course at Avalon Institute?

All Avalon Institute students receive ongoing support throughout their careers. This is available via email, phone, or in person, and all students are encouraged to stay in touch.

What time do the courses begin and finish?

Daytime courses begin promptly at 9.30am and end at 2.30pm.

Evening courses begin promptly at 3.30pm and end at 7.30pm

Please try to arrive ten minutes before the start time. If you arrive late, it will be difficult to catch up; you may be unable to participate in the training, resulting in a loss of course fees. Please ensure that you allow enough time for travel.

Do I have a lunch break?

Students are required to bring a packed lunch. Because of the limited number of hours allotted to each course, teaching time is valuable. Therefore, breaks are kept to a minimum. Avalon Institute allows only one 15-minute break and one 10-minute breaks during your course. Refreshments and biscuits are served.

Will I need a kit?

All equipment and products are provided for your training on the day, but kits are available for any of the courses you take at a cost.

Can I cancel or transfer my course?

Course payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Failure to attend a confirmed course will result in the forfeiture of all payments made for the course.

In the event of a genuine reason for cancellation (proof may be required), Avalon Institute will consider a request for transfer at their discretion. If successful, a £35 administration fee per course will be charged.

What should I wear to Training?

All students must dress professionally when attending Avalon Institute. If you don’t have one, wear black or white trousers and a top. Clothing should be comfortable, with short or rolled-up sleeves, and a cardigan is useful. Jewellery (except wedding rings) must be removed, so we recommend leaving it at home.

Hair must be secured away from the face. Nails should be short and without varnish or extensions. Uniforms can be purchased for you at the time of booking your course, and full payment will be required.

Can I keep my phone on throughout the course?

Avalon Institute recognizes the importance of balancing family, work, and school responsibilities. As a result, Avalon Institute understands that most people rely on their phones to meet their family’s needs. This is why, at Avalon, we allow phones to be turned on but prefer that they be set to silent and vibrate, and if a call needs to be answered or made, please go to a suitable area away from the other students.
